The Traveling Trunk Show is making it's way here & will be returning in August. Will have the exact dates very soon. Once again, there will be loads of new & fresh items from China/India. I have been asking for some Mexican fire opal, can't wait to see it. Some call it Tibetan agate. They told me yesterday that there will be some CZ's also. Not sure what that is but I know it is sparkly & bling-blingish.
It that a word?  sure should be...

 1-31-2006

I have been too busy to write in the Blog for the past 3 months.  Many things have been happening & mostly for the good...YEAH. So, if you haven't been in the shop lately, I will attempt to catch this journal up, as time allows... So many class changes, from scheduled beginners with more instructors, an expanded directory (more choices) & then... the special project classes have been a lot of fun too. Did talk with the traveling trunk show lady this week, we are working out details for a TRUNK show soon... More later, have to run.  Sabrina                                                                                                  10-25-2005

The traveling trunk show was a blast !!!! The beads were all so very beautiful with great prices in the true "bead show" category.  I am hoping that the trunk show lady will think the sales were good also, so that she will allow us to host another show within a few months. (maybe towards the end of Jan '06). Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did, the preview party was so much fun. Thanks to Hugh for the wonderful snacks & beverages, he literally did all the work on that. I am a lucky woman...  As for other news: Bead Therapy started back last week. However, there are some problems with the timeframe that I am working out, So bear with me while it all comes back together. The next wire wrapping class is 11-12 & don't forget the lampworking class 11-13th. Curtis welcomes everyone who has taken a class earlier (even if it was somewhere else) but were then left with an unsatisfied feeling. As long as you have your supplies, you can take the class as a refresher  for $125.00. more later.... Sabrina

Good news... 10-11

bead therapy will be starting back on Oct 20th, with Thurs open until 8pm . Missy has agreed to work those nights which will create a time slot for evening hours. Hope this helps with the holiday time crunch that is fast approaching. Be sure to thank Missy for being so helpful, to us all... Christyanna will be in the shop on Wed & Thur mornings, stop by & introduce yourself, she is a very lovely & talented young lady. Oh yeah, the trunk show will be starting in just a few days, feel as if I am forgetting something... hmmm Can't remember what it is...   see everyone there... Sabrina

10-6

just a quick note to tell you that the traveling trunk show has started to arrive. YOO-HOO  Such beautiful items to absolutely drool over. Also be sure & check out the restocked /new colors of swarovski that has been put out in the shop. Luscious, makes you want to just eat them, if you know what I mean. Everything is making me think deliciously...  See you soon   Sabrina

 9-26-05

With the upcoming trunk show to get ready for, several new helpers to teach the ropes to & new classes to get prepared for, I am running in circles around myself. ** These new classes are going to be fabulous, lots of new techniques, some sewing, wire crocheting & cool new tasks to learn with the lampworking tools. ** Stop in to meet Missy & Jacquelyn ( they are both seniors @ UNCW, smart as whips & joys to be around) Make them feel welcome as they learn how to best help you all. They are newbies but learning so much with each day & new task... We will all miss Amanda a lot but she had to "grow up"  & join the real working world... Our loss is the 9-5's world's gain... ** And don't let me forget.... the fantastic semi-precious trunk show, coming up OCT 14, 15 & 16th. I absolutely cannot wait to see all the hundreds of strands to choose from. I think she told me it would be a value of $35000/$40000 in total. From $3 to $50 a strand, quite a variety, to fit everyone's pocketbook... Speaking of pocketbooks, that is going to be a great class too. I will fill you in as soon as it is all worked out. I better get back to work, the new swarovski will be here this week... Sabrina

PS...  Lampworking class Monday Oct 3rd still has a few spots. I want to remind everyone that our instructor, Curtis Cecil, has been working with fire & glass for 25 years. He is totally patient & very through. You will still know how to make beads when you get home...Ask me for any more info that you need to feel comfortable...

8-22-05

I am thinking that wire work is extremely hot right now... The class last weekend was full once again, so we have scheduled  another for Sept 17th. And they are making such pretty stuff... I feel proud of the students. Some Antique African Trade beads arrived today, so we will get them out for your viewing in a few days... And a good many( +30) Czech strands will be here by next week. And so many more books to drool over in a week or so...Be sure & stop in to check out the new beauties... Rebecca will be back on Sundays starting in a few weeks... Still want to find one more person to work a few hours in the  afternoon. If you are interested, please come in & fill out an application. Can't pay much but there is always the employee discount. Keep smiling even though it is so hotttt, the store is very cool these days. Take good care, everyone... Sabrina

August 3rd, 2005

We are very pleased with the continued interest in our classes. The last wire-wrapping one filled up in record time & Jodie says she is open to another one on 8-20... great news for the stragglers... My sad news is that Jessie will be leaving us in Sept for the School of Design in Savannah, GA. Be sure & stop in to tell her good luck (she is such a great talented young lady) She will be sorely missed, but now the search for a replacement has begun... talk more later

7-22-05

Jodie is ready to start teaching the wire classes again. Hopefully she will bring that precious baby, Skylar in with her for the next one. Check the calendar for the date... Our summer is going well at the store, hope yours is also. It surely is a HOT one but cool inside the shop. And I went a little nutsie with the stone guy last week... So come in & check the new merchandise, all is priced & out in the bins.

6-13-05

New discount program will be here soon.

until then...
